Over the past fifteen years, the growing prevalence of stem cell and cellular therapies, along with observations of early-stage results, has led to the widespread acceptance of the view that this technology could also be applied to the musculoskeletal system in the future. Stem cell therapies have the potential to alter the natural course of musculoskeletal injuries or diseases for which there are currently no attractive treatment options and which remain unresolved. The discovery of the diverse characteristics of cells in living organisms and the unlimited potential of cells known as stem cells has paved the way for breakthroughs that will significantly contribute to the diversity of treatments. Through stem cell applications, the body’s capacity to fully repair specific tissues in the musculoskeletal system is enhanced, thereby providing the necessary regenerative capability.
